\nI’ve been wondering about what to write since I closed donations.
\nAnd I just can’t find the right words.<\/p>\n


\nOriginally, I expected this to go on for at least a few days, if not weeks.
\nAnd yet, here I am, writing these words just a little over twenty four hours since the original post went up.
\nI’d like to thank everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, for their support.
\nI’m not proud of what I did. Hell, I feel even worse than I did yesterday.
\nBut I had no other choice, other than disappearing from the internet completely for some time.
\nThank you.<\/p>\n

What remains, is the unpleasant part.
\nFirst, the amount. I managed to raise 1006$. Yes, >1k.
\nHonestly, this is a little bit too much,
\nand I regret closing donations so late.
\nThis will probably result in me not using all that money.
\nBecause why would I need a laptop for 1k?
\nYes, you’re reading right. A laptop.
\nWhy not a desktop, which would be both cheaper and better?
\nBecause I will probably be moving to UK sometime next month.
\nThis whole “job” situation irritated me to such an extent,
\nthat I decided to accept an invitation from my mother’s friends.
\nAnd as you can imagine, shipping an entire PC (even in parts) just doesn’t make sense.
\nHopefully, next time I will be able to afford a new PC on my own.
\nBecause no matter how much I am grateful to all of you,
\nthis donation drive left a bad taste in my mouth.
\nOf course, once I buy something, I will post relevant pictures.
\nAny leftover money will be used for server bills or blurays.<\/p>\n

Well, this is extremely awkward for me, but I will keep this as short as possible.<\/del>
\nFor the last 13 months I’ve been fansubbing on an ancient PC.
\nSpecs for those interested: Athlon 64 3500+, 2x512MB RAM, Radeon 9550, 80GB HDD.
\nFor the same 13 months I’ve been trying to find a job, and just when I thought I had managed to find one,
\nmy own country screwed me out of it. (basically, I had to back out). And then from another one.
\nAs a result, I have to start looking for a job from the beginning.
\nBut there’s a small problem. My toaster is slowly dying.
\nThis is the part where people would say: “Buy one, you fucking NEET.”
\nI can’t, for the reason detailed above.
\nWhich is why I’m going to do the impossible, and ask for donations toward a new PC.
\n“New” might be a bit of a stretch here, because I would be content with anything that is:
\n– less than 11 years old
\n– doesn’t take 10 minutes to boot up
\n– doesn’t freeze while checking every other website
\n– does not randomly freeze while moving through folders
\n– does not take 5 minutes to launch any application
\n– can play 720p content (this PC chokes even on 480 8bit videos)
\n– has screen that doesn’t blink every few hours
\nI’m not going to say “Donate x$ because I want this and this PC.”
\nInstead, I will leave donations open for a set period of time, and decide based upon the amount of money collected.
\nAny leftover money will go towards FFF’s donations to be used for servers and bluray purchases.

\nI’d like to preempt some questions before they’re even asked. None of the current donations go towards any of the members’ pockets, and are entirely used for server bills. This donation will go directly to archdeco, and I trust that he will be spending the money on a new PC. archdeco has done a considerable amount of work for the group, and it won’t be an exaggeration to say that FFF releases will all get delayed if his PC dies.
