720p: Torrent<\/a> | DDL<\/a> Happy New Year! May 2015 be a good year for all of us! Also, over the past few days, many of you have reached out to me asking about what FFF does with its donations. We get about $200-250 a month<\/span>, and usually<\/em> all of that money goes to paying for the servers that FFFddl.org and FFFansubs.org run on, respectively. The money is also used to pay for our domains, and when we have extra, they’re used to buy Blurays, which we<\/a> do<\/a> buy.<\/a> Some people would have you think that we’re exaggerating our server costs, because all it takes is a ten dollar seedbox<\/em> to release anime. This is completely untrue. FFFddl costs us $200 a month to run at least, on usual months where we don’t exceed our bandwidth cap. We’re currently hosting 2.2TB<\/span> of releases there, and push 80-100TB<\/span> of traffic a month, averaging out to be 250-300mbit of transfers ongoing constantly. It is hosted in Texas – USA<\/span>, which is a very costly place to host a server, but we host it there because the datacenter we’re using has excellent peering, and lets you, the downloader, get high speeds. The option of opting for a higher speed, but more costly, server was by the majority’s request. We were using cheaper servers to host our DDLs prior to the swap, and we had gotten a lot of feedback asking for higher speed servers.<\/p>\n I’d like to end the post by reassuring you that FFF takes integrity seriously and no amount of the money we were donated was ever used for anything other than what it was intended for.
