When we first released Hagure Yuusha, we were just starting to host our own DDLs. The next time we’d release it, we had moved on to a cheaper VPS, and then for the next, we moved to a leaseweb dedicated. Now, two years later, we’re on a much more robust DDL server that has lasted the longest amongst our servers. And this time, we’re going to finish it, for real.
Shinmai Maou no Testament – TV Batch

Being the only member of the Shinmai team who has actually read all the released novels, I don’t think this adaptation was very poorly done if we discount the terrible censoring. The characters were drawn similar enough to the original art, unlike some of the other adaptations we’ve seen. The plot is followed pretty faithfully, and the animation was acceptable for me. Although, I must confess I haven’t watched the TV airing completely and have only seen what I’ve seen whilst working on it. Overall though, I expect the Blurays to cater more to the people who tend to watch said genre of anime, and am pleased to announce that we will be doing the Blurays for this. Whether or not we do the second season remains a question, though.
