Fall 2013 Bluray Plans

November 27, 2013 at 2:39 am

I wrote about announcing our Fall 2013 Bluray plans last week.
Now updated with ongoing bluray status!
Here’re our plans:

Update on Machine Doll

October 7, 2013 at 3:53 am

As some of you already know, Funimation is streaming Machine Doll with about 6h delay. However, we still plan to push ahead with original translation and release BEFORE Funimation.

However, due to abrupt announcement as well as several members of our team missing (thankfully they’re back now), episode 1 will be released within next 6-7 hours. We are working on it.

There will be one more show on Thursday/Friday – Galilei Donna (original translation).
Look forward to it as well.

And in case anyone cares, Railgun is officialy dropped, including BDs.

Fall 2013 Plans & Summer 2013 BD Plans

September 26, 2013 at 5:40 am

It’s that time of the year again. Summer is leaving us behind, school is starting up, and shows are ending.
While I’d have liked to write about our plans after we’re confirmed on everything, I don’t think we’ll be able to, for various reasons.
Summer has been a pretty rough season.
From Ioryogi and nINJAkECIL disappearing to having all of our Spring recruits vanishing, we’ve had more than a few delays.
We’ve had a mildly successful recruitment drive and have increased our numbers slightly.
I welcome mints and Jark to the FFFamily.
Long time friends Futsuu, returnity, Nevreen and Juular have joined us too.
Without further ado, here are the shows we have planned.
Do note that the shows are subject to change depending on what Crunchyroll announces.

archdeco edit: Xythar and Yuyu were feeling lonely after all this welcome we gave to the new people, so let’s show them how much they are loved!

Fall 2013 TV
Highly likely:
Infinite Stratos 2
Kyoukai no Kanata
Little Busters Refrain

We’re still looking for Translators and Editors, please submit a form if you’re interested in joining us.
Translators are especially welcome, even if you’re not interested in anything listed here.
We’re very open to new ideas if there’s a willing translator.

Dropped:

Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou (CR-edit) Dropped.
Rozen Maiden Watch HS.

All shows (except DxD) are subject to change depending on what will be simulcasted.
That is all.

That means it’s time for a Blu-ray plans post.
We’ll announce the winner in a few days. Thanks for all the submissions!

FFF's 3rd Anniversary & Spring 2013 TV Plans

archdeco said Hidamari is fitting.

Eien:
We’re 3 years old today.
I’m a terrible writer, so I’ll leave the story telling part to convexity, who’s pretty much the co-leader.
It hasn’t been a smooth ride the entire way, and we’ve had our ups and downs.
I want to thank all of the staff.
I really appreciate your work and friendship.
I enjoy our fun times in the staff channel more than the actual fansubbing, even!

convexity:
This is certainly a good time to look back on what has happened in the past year.

Since the Spring 2011 incident, the group had not been very active, barely managing a couple of shows a season. There was little interest among the remaining staff in finishing up some of the shows from that period (in fact, we still haven’t finished Softenni). By the beginning of 2012, not much work was getting done, with almost half the people in the staff channel just idling. The joint with GotWoot/Underwater on Symphogear didn’t go too well because of staff issues and the supposedly Nordic spells that were challenging to figure out. Many inaccuracies were pointed out in our Aquarion EVOL releases. And we found out that we had a murderer in the group. Clearly, some changes were in order.

Eien took the initiative just before the beginning of the Spring 2012 season, removing inactive members and recruiting new ones. The group tag was changed from [FFFpeeps] to just [FFF] starting with Medaka Box. Some significant changes were also made with respect to how we actually subbed things. For one, we began using simulcast translations as a base, since more and more shows got licensed. Sengoku Collection and Medaka Box were the first shows we used CR translations for. One motivation for this was that Medaka Box was apparently not easy to translate and the attempt to joint with Whine-Subs for it didn’t work out so well (the other two groups ended up dropping it too, so it must have been pretty terrible to work on). We also switched to 10-bit encodes and began using pads to streamline the process rather than uploading raw translations and such.

As such, a lot of changes were made to the group about a year ago. Practically no new translator or timer joined during 2012, but we got by. After joining early 2012, Ioryogi has done a lot of editing for the group. archdeco eventually inherited the role of the Master Timer from jadpraet, timing everything for the group. ClamXtX and Calyrica QC’ed almost all the TV and Bluray releases, respectively. The core team hasn’t changed much since.

Since then, nothing eventful really happened except for the recent recruitment where we recruited five members within a month, a rather sizable addition to the staff team which hasn’t happened since the founding of the group.

We welcome Lillia, lunr, haguruma, AndyRayy and Shinitai to the FFFamily!

Spring Plans:
So, I’d also like to take this opportunity to announce our Spring plans, which may be subjected to change depending on what CR announces.

Red Data Girl [Both NicoNico and TV airing]
Date a Live [Both NicoNico and TV airing]
Hataraku Maou-sama!
Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Brides
Haiyore Nyaruko S2

We have a few more shows we’re looking at, but we haven’t really confirmed lineups for them, so we’ll announce them later.

Because recently Eien posted this pic, and because Christmas is coming, I decided to be nice and write an update post.

Fall 2012 Plans & Recruitment

October 4, 2012 at 1:50 pm

Hi, archdeco told me to make a post because he wants to say Himiko is the best BTOOOM.
Elizabeth is also the best Horizon.

archdeco’s hijack: Nibutani is the best Chuunibyou.
KmE is a massive slut for delaying Tasogare. Oh, and Girls und Panzer stinx.

We’ll be doing the following anime for Fall 2012:

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
Btooom!
Medaka Box Abnormal
To-Love-RU Darkness
Hidamari Sketch

We still have our eyes on Girls und Panzer.
A translator for Girls und Panzer would be nice.
Originally, we planned on going with CR for translation, but they’ll be airing it 2.5 days late.
nINJAKECIL really wants to do that show, and we’ll probably use CR 2.5 days later if we don’t get a translator.

Some staff still haven’t gotten their timetable for the next semester, and as such, having backups would be good.
We’re looking for an editor, a timer, and a translator.
Multitalented individuals are welcome to apply, preferably people who can time + typeset, since KmE would be busy for the first month or so.

Also, Ika S1 Blurays Vol.03/04 should have been out, but 06 corrupted. 05/07 are already on DDL, and 08 should follow shortly.
